James made his first class debut for a County Select XI against the Indians at the Emirates Riverside in July 2021.
Somerset List ‘A’ debut August 2021.
England U19 World Cup 2022.
James made his Somerset first class debut in July 2022 and he was an instant success scoring his maiden half century in his first match and he followed it up with his maiden century in the next game against Essex at Chelmsford.
James then enjoyed a successful Royal London Cup campaign being the highest run scorer (307) which included his maiden one-day century.
As a result of his successful breakthrough season James received Somerset’s Young Player of the Year Award for 2022.
