Migael Pretorius joined Somerset County Cricket Club during the 2024 season, adding depth and versatility. Signed initially as injury cover, Pretorius arrived at Taunton with a growing reputation in South African domestic cricket, known for his ability to generate pace and bounce, as well as contributing useful lower-order runs. His move to Somerset marked his first foray into county cricket, offering him valuable experience in English conditions.
His first spell at Somerset was cut short due to being called up to the South Africa test squad in place of the injured Gerald Coetzee. Pretorius left a positive impression on teammates, coaches, and supporters alike. His professional attitude and quality, hinted at a player capable of making a lasting impact in county cricket.
Migael returns to Somerset for the 2025 season and will be availible to play all formats of cricket.
