James signed his first professional contract with Somerset County Cricket Club this winter.
The 19-year-old put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the 2027 season.
The former Exeter College student, who plays his club cricket for Sandford CC, worked his way through the Devon Pathway before joining the Somerset Academy.
James featured in a total of 13 Second XI matches across the formats during the summer of 2025, claiming eight wickets and scoring a number of important lower order runs.
James was named in the 2025 Metro Bank One Day Cup squad, making his First XI debut in the victory at Yorkshire, claiming his maiden wicket when he dismissed Finlay Bean. He also played in the win at Kent.
