SCCC to host Accessibility Focus Group in January

A special meeting will take place at the Cooper Associates County Ground on January 19th for people with accessibility needs, including people with physical disabilities or any conditions, visible or not, which might be a barrier to visiting the ground.

Somerset County Cricket Club are extending an open invitation to anyone with additional access requirements and asking them to contribute to a conversation around the Club’s current provision as well as what improvements can be made to make the Club more inclusive.

The event will be held in the 1875 Club within the Marcus Trescothick Pavilion from 10am until 12pm.

The open and interactive meeting forms an element of the Club’s commitment to being an inclusive venue and the agenda will cover a review of the current provision from point of booking through the entire customer experience through an accessibility lens.

Attendees will be invited to share their experiences of visiting the venue and we will encourage people to share their ideas in specific areas regarding improvements that could be made in order to ensure that everyone feels safe and welcome at the ground.

Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting, and we aim to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard within this important conversation.

Anyone wishing to join us for the meeting is asked to register their attendance by emailing inclusivity@somersetcountycc.co.uk. Alternatively, you can call the Club Office on 01823 425301. Please note that the office phone lines will reopen on January 5th.

Refreshments will be provided.

Please register your attendance by January 9th.
