TEAM NEWS

Somerset have named the following squad for the match: Emily Edgecombe, Nicole Harvey, Carla Rose, Daisy Jeanes, Joleigh Roberts, Sophie Pickering, Molly Thornburn, Poppy Hawker, Tilly Bond, Georgia Tulip and Lucy Ashman.

VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Ahead of the games, Somerset Pathway Coach & Women and Girls Lead, Kieran Peters said: “We have a lot of young players in our squad, many of whom play for the Under 18 County age group side. The Under 18s have qualified for a national knock out quarter final which is also being played on Sunday which means that several of our squad will be unavailable for selection for the game against Oxfordshire. It will therefore be a slightly different looking squad, but that creates some exciting opportunities and some different roles for those who will be involved on Sunday.

“Although we’re missing a few players, we will still be really confident in those who will take to the field. We’re looking forward to them putting on a show and showing what they can do in a Somerset shirt.

“We’ve still got a lot of familiar faces in the group with a lot of experience and this gives them the opportunity to continue to drive forward and put a stamp on how we want to play our 50-over cricket. Hopefully, we can set some high standards and come away with a positive result.”
