VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Ahead of the match Head Coach, Trevor Griffin said: “We’re excited to be playing a different format. We’ve played some great cricket in the Metro Bank One Day Cup and it’s nice to be able to get our teeth into some T20 cricket, especially with the Vitality Blast not too far away.
“This competition has the added incentive of Finals Day being played at the Cooper Associates County Ground. To be able to play at our home ground in the first final of the year with the opportunity of winning a trophy is ultimately what we’re all here to do.
“It will be interesting to see how the competition unfolds with tier one teams unable to field their overseas players and it gives other players the chance to come in, step up and make a name for themselves.
“We’re all looking forward to playing at Exmouth. It’s a venue I know well from my time in Devon and hopefully we’ll get a good crowd down there to come and support us.
“It’s great to be able to take Somerset cricket to one of our National County Partners and showcase the game. Hopefully, we can inspire future generations of supporters and players.”
NEXT MATCH
Somerset’s next match is on Tuesday May 20th when we take on The Blaze at Haslegrave Ground, Loughborough in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
