Mollie signs contract extension
Somerset County Cricket Club can today reveal that Mollie Robbins has signed a contract extension.
The 26-year-old has put pen to paper on a new one-year deal which will see her remain at the Cooper Associates County Ground until at least the end of the 2026 season.
A product of the Gloucestershire Pathway, Mollie joined the Western Storm Academy in 2021 and went on to feature in 22 matches across the formats for Storm.
The right-arm seamer signed for Somerset in November last year and made her debut against Warwickshire at Edgbaston in this year’s Metro Bank One Day Cup. Since then, she has gone on to feature in 19 matches across the season so far and was the Club’s leading wicket taker in the Vitality Blast, claiming 16 wickets at an average of 17.68 with a best of four for 29.
Regarding her new deal, Mollie said: “I’m really happy to be at Somerset for at least another year. I’ve really enjoyed this first season and I’m excited to see what we can achieve. I’m pleased that I’ve shown that I can compete at this level and that Somerset have seen something in me which will allow me to continue my progress.
“My main hope for 2026 is that there are a lot of wins for Somerset and that I can continue to take wickets.”
Somerset Head Coach, Trevor Griffin added: “Mollie has earned this contract extension through hard work, commitment and a genuine determination to get better every day. She can generate bounce and swing, and we have seen in the last few weeks that she certainly belongs at this level.
“We are delighted that she has taken her opportunity to succeed in the professional sphere and look forward to seeing how her career develops over the next 12 months and beyond.”
Somerset Director of Cricket, Andy Hurry said: “”Across the 2025 season Mollie has played a key role with the ball, and it’s been rewarding to see the progress and impact she’s made.
“We’re excited about the influence she can have with the ball on future results across the remainder of this campaign and the 2026 season. We very much look forward to working with her and continuing to support her development and impact this extension with the Club provides.”
