Century for Lammers on Day Three
Somerset resumed on 81 for three on the third and final day of this pre-season match against Glamorgan at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
Tom Abell and Tom Lammonby brought up the 50 partnership for the fourth wicket from 82 balls shortly before they took their side to three figures from the opening ball of the 29th over.
Lammonby reached his half century from 82 balls and began to accelerate, bringing up the 100 partnership from 142 balls and taking Somerset to 150 in the 36th over.
Whilst his partner at the crease became increasingly expansive, Abell continued to accumulate his runs at a steadier pace and a glorious drive off Douthwaite saw him reach his 50 from 83 balls.
Lammonby’s 100 arrived from 107 balls with his second 50 coming from just 25 deliveries to emphasise the quickening of his strike rate.
The 150 partnership arrived from the 188th ball that the pair had faced and shortly thereafter the Somerset 200 appeared on the scoreboard in the 45th over.
At lunch the Toms had taken their side to 225 for three.
Lammonby retired out on 118 which saw Lewis Goldsworthy join Abell in the middle after the break. Unfortunately for the Cornishman he was trapped lbw by Ben Kellaway for two at 230 for five.
Abell had moved to 84, and Somerset to 256, when he was caught on the boundary by McIlroy off the bowling of Mason Crane.
Crane then accounted for Josh Thomas (23) who edged behind at 283 for seven.
Craig Overton went to 50 with three consecutive sixes off Asa Tribe, and with the score on 331 for seven, and Overton on 56, the players shook hands.
