Tom Banton named in the England IT20 squad
Somerset’s Tom Banton has been named in the 17-player England squad for the Vitality IT20 series against India in July.
Tom’s full International T20 debut came against New Zealand at Nelson in November 2019 and to date he has represented his country in 35 IT20s, scoring 696 runs at a strike rate of 150.32.
Uncapped all-rounder James Coles has been called up to an England Men’s squad for the first time.
Jordan Cox, Sonny Baker and Saqib Mahmood return to the T20 squad having not been a part of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad. Brydon Carse and Jamie Overton are unavailable due to injury.
England Men’s National Selector, Marcus North, said: “James Coles is an exciting addition and has earned his place following his performances with the England Lions and in T20 competitions here and abroad during the past 12 months.
“We have selected a larger squad to accommodate for the fact that this series will begin shortly after the Test series against New Zealand is due to conclude which allows us to be flexible.”
