Shoaib Bashir to join Glamorgan on loan
Somerset and England spinner, Shoaib Bashir is set to join Glamorgan on loan.
The 21-year-old will link up with the Sofia Gardens-based County from March 27th until April 22nd, making him eligible for selection for Glamorgan’s Rothesay County Championship Division Two matches against Leicestershire, Gloucestershire and Middlesex.
Somerset Director of Cricket, Andy Hurry believes that this is a move that will be beneficial to all concerned.
“We appreciate at this time of the season there are several players who need competitive First XI cricket and with opportunities limited, the loan system provides a platform for players to gain that.
“Over the last few seasons, we have been able to utilise the loan system for the benefit of the players involved and Somerset County Cricket Club, and we look forward to welcoming Shoaib back to the Cooper Associates County Ground later in April”
