Sean looking to leave Somerset on a high
Somerset batter, Sean Dickson will leave the Club at the end of the season to join Glamorgan.
The 34-year-old’s current contract expires at the end of this season, and he is determined to finish his time at the Cooper Associates County Ground on a high.
“I’ve loved every moment of my time with Somerset,” he said. “I’m going to cherish every memory I’ve made and hopefully we can make some more this weekend.”
“The Cooper Associates County Ground is one of the best I’ve ever played at and the support we get down here is amazing. That’s something that I’ll definitely miss. Things haven’t necessarily gone to plan in red ball cricket, but when you’re an opening batter these things can happen.
“I’ve made Taunton my home and my second child was born down here so that’s something that we’ll always cherish.
“Saturday was my last game at Taunton, and I really wanted to go out there and be the one that made the difference.”
Somerset CCC Director of Cricket, Andy Hurry said: “Sean has made some outstanding contributions to Somerset across this season’s Vitality Blast and in previous campaigns, most notably playing a pivotal role in our 2023 Blast success and leading the 2024 Metro Bank One Day Cup side to last year’s final. His impact on the field has been a key factor in our achievements in recent years, and equally, his influence and presence off the field have been hugely valuable to the Club.
“We would like to sincerely thank Sean for his commitment, professionalism, and the significant role he has played in taking the Club forward. His performances have given us some unforgettable memories, and he leaves at the end of the season with the appreciation and best wishes of everyone at Somerset CCC.”
