Overseas Update: November 2024

Several of Somerset’s players are currently overseas, so we thought we would take a look at how some of them are getting on.

 

Tom Kohler-Cadmore has been representing the Deccan Gladiators in the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament.

He finished the competition as the top scorer and smashed his way to 56 not out from 21 balls in the final as his side beat Morrisville Samp Army by eight wickets with 19 balls to spare.

In total he scored 278 runs at an average of 34.75 at a strike rate of 198.57.

 

Tom Banton also excelled for Delhi Bulls in the competition.

The Somerset ‘keeper/batter played a starring role as his side reached the latter stages of the competition, missing out on the final in the last qualifier.

He finished the tournament as the second leading run scorer, amassing 273 runs at an average of 30.33 with a best of 73 from just 26 balls with a strike rate of 213.28.

 

Tom Abell has been in playing in the Global Super League T20 competition for Lahore Qalanders.

Despite making an impressive 48 from just 45 balls, he couldn’t prevent his side from slipping to a six-wicket defeat against Guyana Amazon Warriors at Providence.

He also made 21 as his side overcame Hampshire by four runs.

 

Josh Thomas is spending the winter in Australia playing for Pinjarra CC.

He made his maiden century for the club recently as Pinjarra retained the Mandurah-Murray Cup with victory over Mandurah. He made 118 from 97 balls.

He followed that up with 123 from 109 balls against Rockingham Hornets this weekend.

 

Fin Hill is also in Australia where he is representing Eastern Suburbs.

He has also been in fine form, making six scores of 50 or more in a row.

Heather Knight captained England to a 3-0 IT20 series whitewash over South Africa.

Charlie Dean was the pick of the England bowlers, finishing the series as the leading wicket taker. She claimed six wickets at an average of 12.33 with a best of three for 26.
