Ned to join Glamorgan on loan
Somerset seamer Ned Leonard will join Glamorgan on loan for the remainder of their Vitality County Championship Division Two campaign.
He will still be available for Somerset in white-ball cricket.
The 22-year-old former England Under 19 international has played an important role in Somerset’s Metro Bank One Day Cup campaign and the Second XI T20 success this summer but has found his red-ball opportunities limited.
Somerset Director of Cricket, Andy Hurry, believes that the deal will be beneficial to all. “We have been looking to utilise the loan system as effectively as we can this summer, and we feel that this is great opportunity for Ned.
“Whilst Second XI cricket is extremely important when it comes to player development, we feel that competitive First XI cricket in Division Two of the County Championship will be more beneficial for Ned at this stage of the season.”
