VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Ahead of the fixture, Somerset Metro Bank One Day Cup Coach, Paul Tweddle said: “We have a really strong relationship with Devon and our other National County Partners, and these matches give us the opportunity to build on that. It also gives us the chance to re-familiarise ourselves with the format ahead of the Metro Bank One Day Cup against strong opponents. Devon always field a strong side and I have no doubt that the game will be extremely competitive.

“I think it’s really important that the players understand why we are playing these National County fixtures and know why it’s important that we keep building on these relationships, so we will certainly be making everyone aware of the importance of such fixtures.

“The game provides the opportunity for some of the established players to get back into the rhythm of 50-over cricket, whilst also giving the younger players the chance to show what they can do in competitive situations.”

NEXT MATCH

Somerset’s next match is on Tuesday August 1st when we take on Cornwall at Truro in a National County fixture.
