Ahead of the match, Somerset Interim Head Coach, Paul Tweddle said: “The connection between Somerset and Cornwall gets stronger each year, and games like this demonstrate that. National County fixtures also help to showcase the talent that the South West has to offer.
“It’s important that this group bond ahead of the competition. There’s always a quick turnaround and we’ll have players coming back from the match at Trent Bridge and coming straight into this game. This is a great opportunity for the group to spend some time together and get used to the format before we start the Metro Bank One Day Cup against Middlesex on Wednesday.
“Our intention will be to go to Cornwall and be incredibly competitive and it gives the players the opportunity to put their case forward for selection against Middlesex.”
