Lewis’ Leicestershire Loan Extended
Lewis Goldsworthy’s loan period with Leicestershire County Cricket Club will now encompass June’s two Vitality County Championship matches.
The original deal was solely for Vitality Blast fixtures, but the two Counties have reached an agreement which will see the 23-year-old become available for selection for Leicestershire’s red-ball fixtures against Sussex and Middlesex later this month.
Somerset CCC Director of Cricket, Andy Hurry explained the rationale behind the new agreement. “Lewis has performed well in his time with Leicestershire, and we believe that this extension to his loan conditions will positively impact all parties.
“Lewis is clearly benefiting from maximising the First XI opportunities that his loan spell has afforded him, we will be advantaged by him returning to the Cooper Associates County Ground match-fit and match-sharp, whilst Leicestershire are benefiting from the qualities that he provides both on and off the field.”
