James and Kasey named in England Lions squad

 

Somerset’s James Rew and Kasey Aldridge have been named in the England Lions squad for the four-day match against Sri Lanka at Visit Worcestershire New Road.

The Somerset pair, Lyndon James and Ollie Price are due to join a strong squad after they were all part of the England Lions set-up during the winter.

England Men Under-19s quartet Farhan Ahmed, Eddie Jack, Ben McKinney and Hamza Shaikh are also included after the recent Young Lions home series against Sri Lanka.

Gloucestershire’s Zaman Akhter, who is a graduate of the South Asian Cricket Academy, earns his first call-up to the Lions.

The match begins on Wednesday August 14th.

England Men’s Performance Director, Ed Barney, said: “We’ve selected an exciting squad which brings a balance of exceptionally high-potential cricketers and proven performance. This selection follows on from the First-Class County fixture early in the summer where some of the brightest talent excelled against the West Indies.”
