Jake Signs Contract Extension
Jake Ball has signed a new one-year contract extension which will see him remain at the Cooper Associates County Ground until at least the end of the 2027 season.
The 35-year-old arrived in Taunton ahead of the 2024 season and has played for the Club on 59 occasions, taking 97 wickets across the three formats.
Jake, who has also represented England on 24 occasions, was a key member of Somerset’s Vitality Blast winning side in 2025, claiming two wickets in the final against Hampshire at Edgbaston.
After signing his contract extension Jake said: “I love playing for Somerset and the Vitality Blast win was definitely a career highlight for me. Since I joined the Club, we’ve consistently competed on all three fronts and with the quality that we have in the squad I’m sure that will continue in the years to come.
“I’ll keep giving everything I have in all formats to help Somerset win matches and I can’t wait to play my part both on and off the field next year and also in our push for this year’s County Championship.
“The support that we get is different class and everyone in the dressing room wants to make sure that our Members have something to cheer at the end of the season.”
Somerset CCC Director of Cricket, Andy Hurry added: “Jake is a leading presence both on and off the field, and his expertise and wealth of experience have been fundamental to the success we’ve enjoyed in recent years.
“He is a model professional who continues to make major contributions across all formats, exemplifying the standards and values we expect.
“He remains one of the cornerstones of our team and will play a crucial role in driving us forward throughout the rest of this campaign and into the future.”
