Jake and Alfie join Kent on loan

Somerset seamers Jake Ball and Alfie Ogborne are set to join Kent on short-term loan deals.

The 14-day agreements will see the Somerset pace pair join up with Canterbury-based side with immediate effect, making them eligible for Kent’s next two Rothesay County Championship Division Two matches against Gloucestershire and Derbyshire.

Regarding the deals, Somerset Director of Cricket, Andy Hurry said: “This is once again an important chance for our players to be getting time in the middle and miles in their legs within a First XI environment whilst their opportunities here are limited.

“As we have stated previously, the loan system is beneficial to the players and both clubs involved.

“We wish Jake and Alfie all the best at Kent and look forward to welcoming them back into the First Team environment at the Cooper Associates County Ground later this month.”
