Contract Extension for Erin
Somerset County Cricket Club is pleased to be able to announce that Erin Vukusic has signed a contract extension.
The 20-year-old right-arm seamer, whose current deal was due to expire this winter, has signed until at least the end of the 2028 season.
After progressing through the Devon Pathway, Erin made her First XI debut for the county in 2021. She joined the Western Storm Regional Academy Programme in the winter of 2023, taking 23 wickets at an average of 16 with a best of five for forty-one.
Erin signed an initial two-year contract ahead of the 2025 season and has featured in 19 Vitality Blast matches for the County, taking 25 wickets at an average of 20.92 with a best of three for 24.
Erin has also represented Croatia, making her international debut in 2024 against the Czech Republic in the Women’s Central European Cup where she won the Player of the Match award after her 85 not out helped her side to a comprehensive win.
After signing her contract extension, Erin said: “I’m very happy and really excited to be staying with Somerset. This is such a great group and I’m looking forward to being around them all for two more years. I’m excited for the challenge ahead because running out onto the pitch for Somerset, especially here in Taunton, is so special. It was great to be involved more this year and to be given more responsibility in games.
“For me, this winter is about, fixing up my back, getting stronger and pushing myself, so I’m super excited to get into winter training. When the new season comes around, the focus will be on becoming a core player in both formats.
“I feel like we’ve all grown a lot this year, and it’s the connection that we have as a group both on and off the field that sets us apart.”
Somerset Head Coach, Erin Osborne added: “It’s awesome to have Erin re-sign with Somerset. She’s a valued member of our squad and she brings so much energy. She’s really skilful with the ball and we saw how good she was in the Vitality Blast.
“Obviously, it’s disappointing that she suffered a back injury this summer, but she’s rehabbing really well and it’s been great to have her around the group. It’s wonderful to have her re-sign.”
Somerset CCC Director of Talent & Women’s Performance, Matt Drakeley said: “Erin has performed superbly in T20 cricket this summer, building on the way she emerged through the 2025 season.
“She came through a challenging period during the season, and the diligence she showed in getting herself back and ready to perform for Somerset through the T20 block is testament to her hard work.
“We are delighted to have her with us for another two years and we’re excited to see how she continues to progress and perform.”
