Ben to join Leicestershire on loan
Somerset all-rounder, Ben Green will join Leicestershire CCC on loan for their opening seven Rothesay County Championship matches.
The 27-year-old appeared in six Championship matches for the Foxes last summer and will return to the Uptonsteel County Ground in time for the Division Two opener against Glamorgan which begins on April 4th.
He will return to Somerset after the initial rounds of Championship fixtures in time for the Vitality Blast clash against Surrey on May 30th.
Somerset CCC Director of Cricket, Andy Hurry said: “It’s absolutely vital that we explore ways of continuing to support our player’s development when First XI opportunities are limited in a particular format. The loan system provides this and is mutually beneficial to all parties.
“Last season we witnessed several players successfully engaging in similar opportunities in both the County Championship and Vitality Blast. We envisage Ben benefitting from time out in the middle during this loan spell in the early period of the season, and we look forward to welcoming him back ahead of our Vitality Blast campaign.”
