As part of our 2026 Membership campaign we will be recognising the SCCC Members and supporters who embody what Somerset County Cricket Club is all about.
Over the next few months we will be bringing you the #YouAreSomerset Awards.
TODAY’S WINNER IS…
Francesca, Danielle, Chanel and the Winter Wonderland Team!
Francesca, Danielle and Chanel are the driving force behind Winter Wonderland which launches at the Cooper Associates County Ground tomorrow (Friday November 28th).
The incredible event will run until January 4th and has everything that you could hope for this festive season, including: A covered real ice skating rink, An ‘Apres Winter’ Bar, Santa’s grotto, Seasonal food stalls, Fairground rides and much more!
During a break in setting up the event, Francesca said: “My sisters Chanel, Danielle and I have been involved in Christmas events up and down the country for many years and we wanted to do something in our home town. It’s great to be able to do something as a family here in Taunton.
“It’s going to be a great event and it’s important to us that we give something back to the town. The whole point is that Winter Wonderland will bring people to the town which will be good for the local economy. People can spend the afternoon in the shops and the cafes and the bars and then come here afterwards. We just want to do something good.
“The Cricket Club have been absolutely fantastic. They saw the dream that we had, and they’ve helped us turn it into a reality. Everyone has been really supportive, we’ve had a lot of people telling us that they can’t wait for it to open, and ticket sales are going well.”
WINTER WONDERLAND
Step into Christmas and join us at our Festive Winter Wonderland!
Friday November 28th until Thursday January 4th really will be the most wonderful time of the year because a special Winter Wonderland is coming to town!
The Cooper Associates County Ground will be hosting this amazing event which has all you want for Christmas, including:
- A covered real ice skating rink (Adults £14/Children £12 – 1 hour slots)
- An ‘Apres Winter’ Bar
- Santa’s grotto (£15 for 1 child, 2 adults, Christmas gift, reindeer food – 30 minute slots)
- Seasonal food stalls
- Fairground rides
- …and much more!
So, come all ye faithful and make sure you have yourself a merry little Christmas by joining us at our Winter Wonderland.
Entry to the Cooper Associates County Ground is free of charge.
