As part of our 2026 Membership campaign we will be recognising the SCCC Members and supporters who embody what Somerset County Cricket Club is all about.

TODAY’S WINNER IS…
PETER LANE
Peter is a life long follower of Somerset County Cricket Club. Over the years, in addition to following the fortunes of the team on the pitch, Peter has given his time freely and served the Club that features large in his life in a variety of voluntary roles.
One of Peter’s first roles was in the 1980’s whilst he was living Exeter when he was appointed as Chairman of the Devon and Cornwall Area committee in place of Charles Emery. He then served on the SCCC General Committee from the late 1980s until the late 1990’s. In addition to this he was a Trustee of Somerset Cricket Museum between 1997 and 2011.
Peter took over the role of PA announcer at the Cooper Associates County Ground from the late 1990s until 2014 during which time he worked alongside the first team scorers David Oldam and Gerry Stickley.
Since 2004 he has been involved with helping to compile the SCCC Yearbook, which is now known as the SCCC Almanac, compiling and updating the player profiles, players records and proof reading, all of which helps to keep him busy during the winter months.
Somerset County Cricket Club will again be producing a limited number of hard copies of the latest edition of the Club Almanac.
The annual publication contains season reviews, match reports, stats, articles from famous guest writers and stunning pictures plus much more.
All 2025 Members will receive a free digital version, but if you wish to own a physical copy of this year’s edition, you need to order it.
The Almanac will be available to pre-order from Saturday December 6th.
Orders must be placed before 11:59pm on January 5th, 2026.
Members can purchase a copy for £10, whilst it is available to non-Members at a cost of £15. Prices include postage and packing.
