TODAY’S WINNERS ARE…
JOHN and KATHLEEN RYVES
Membership for 2026 went on sale on September 15th and John and Kathleen were the first people to purchase!
John explains how they managed to be so quick off the mark. “I’m a football season ticket holder,” he explained. “In football you need to get in quick when it comes to tickets and I wanted to make sure that we got what we wanted.
“I’m originally from Retford in Nottinghamshire and Kath is from Portsmouth but we’ve been living in Somerset for 21 years now. We’ve always been interested in cricket but now that we’ve retired, we thought that going to the cricket together would be a nice thing to do. We’ve sat in different parts of the ground but have settled nicely into the Lord Botham Stand. It’s nice there because, unlike football, you can chat with the away supporters. There’s a really good atmosphere and the staff are always friendly. I’m going to try and be first to get a 2026 County Championship shirt too!”
Kathleen added: “We first became Members in 2025 and had such a good time that we wanted to come again next year. Everyone is so welcoming and it’s a pleasure to go down there. We’ve bought ourselves some Somerset County Cricket Club seat covers too, so we’re making ourselves comfortable!”
