GIMBLETT’S HILL

Gimblett’s Hill has been remodelled.

The work was carried out in order to improve accessibility on matchdays, while retaining the history and character of one of the most popular parts of the Cooper Associates County Ground.

Here is a brief summary of the works:

  • Gimblett’s Hill has been extended under the big screen and into Legends Square. The Legends Square Bricks have been carefully and sensitively removed and reintegrated into the new development
  • Levels one and two on Gimblett’s Hill have been flattened to create a new accessible aisle. This has been widened for Wheelchair access and also includes electrical charging points for chairs and mobility vehicles.
  • Level three has been retained as a general Members/spectator area which includes the popular memorial benches.
  • A brick structure has been introduced along the front of the Hill with balustrading.
  • Ramp access has been introduced at the Marcus Trescothick Pavilion end of the site.
