The matches that defined the 2025 Vitality Blast

2025 was another incredible season for Somerset in the Vitality Blast.

The competition culminated with our second trophy lift in three years at another memorable Finals Day at Edgbaston.

That day in Birmingham was an occasion that will live long in the memory of everyone connected to the Club.

However, the victory over Hampshire Hawks in the final was just one of a number of incredible matches during the campaign.

Today we take a look back at some of the best moments of the 2025 Blast.

Riley and Matt take down Surrey

Somerset began the 2025 Vitality Blast with a popular victory over Surrey at the Cooper Associates County Ground.

Riley Meredith and Matt Henry both claimed three wickets as the home side came out on top by five wickets despite an impressive knock from Jason Roy.

Somerset made it two out of two when Will Smeed inspired his side to an eight wicket demolition of Essex.

Somerset chase 230!

Half centuries from Sean Dickson and Lewis Gregory saw Somerset secure the Club’s highest ever run chase against Middlesex at the Cooper Associates County Ground.

Derby Delight

A career best four for 13 from Lewis Goldsworthy helped Somerset secure the local bragging rights at Bristol. Will Smeed also smashed another half century.

Last over drama

Somerset’s clash with Hampshire Hawks at Utilita Bowl was an absolute nail-biter. The game went down to the very last over with Somerset getting over the line with just once ball to spare!

TKC destroys Essex

Tom Kohler Cadmore smashed his way to 90 from just 39 balls as Somerset secured a comprehensive win over Essex Eagles.

Dickson takes Somerset to Finals Day

Somerset looked dead and buried in the quarter final against Bears. That was until Sean Dickson grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck!
