Success for SCCC at Somerset Business Awards

There was more off-field success for Somerset County Cricket Club on Friday evening.

The Club claimed the “Best Use of Technology Award” for the Our Region Rises Membership Campaign at the Somerset Business Awards.

The award highlights how the use of new, innovative digital technology has helped a business to grow and offer new services or types of working, and recognises firms in the digital and technology sector and beyond who are using robotics, apps or even artificial intelligence to stand out in the marketplace.

The glittering gala dinner and presentation was held at the Winter Gardens Pavilion, in Weston-super-Mare.

Nearly 400 business people from across Somerset attended the event, which was organised by Somerset Chamber of Commerce and hosted by Global and Heart FM broadcast journalist, Cormac MacMahon.

Somerset CCC Commercial Director, Caroline Herbert said: “We have a small but dedicated team who always go above and beyond to ensure that Somerset County Cricket Club are the envy of the English domestic game both on and off the field.

“This award recognises the collaborative effort shown across the team to design and launch our 2024 ‘Our Region Rises’ Membership campaign. We are proud to represent the whole of the South West and this campaign harnessed the incredible support we have in the region.  Using propensity model technology, hyper-localised campaigning, automation & personalisation and highly sophisticated geographic segmented marketing strategies, we were able to demonstrate the region’s importance to the Club and persuade existing and new individuals to sign up for 2024 Membership.

“The campaign saw the highest acquisition of new Members since records began and an increase in retention rates.”

This year was the 19th anniversary of the awards and Somerset Chamber Chief Executive, Emma Rawlings, said the quality of entries had again been incredible and thanked everyone who had supported the awards.

She said: “We have some amazing businesses in Somerset and it was fantastic to be able to honour just some of their achievements.

“We know many have faced some extremely challenging trading conditions again this last 12 months, so it was encouraging to hear about the successes of our finalists and winners and to be able to help them celebrate through the awards.”
