What is Stuff on the Stage?
Stuff on the Stage is an incredible three-day event at the Cooper Associates County Ground featuring stand up comedy, sensational live music and a little bit of Shakespeare!
When does it take place?
Stuff on the Stage will take place on Friday September 11th, Saturday September 12th and Sunday September 13th.
Day One – John Bishop
Comedy fans are in for a rare treat as John Bishop returns to the stage for one night only at the Cooper Associates County Ground on Friday, September 11th.
This special show marks Bishop’s first headlining UK performance since 2025 and is expected to attract audiences from across the country eager to see one of Britain’s best-loved comedians back where he belongs, in front of a packed crowd. Joining John will be Justin Moorhouse and Sally-Anne Hayward.
Known for his hilarious storytelling, quick wit, razor-sharp observations and sell out Arena stand-up tours, Bishop has built a reputation as one of the UK’s most loved entertainers and one of the country’s top live comedy acts.

Day Two – Music Legends
Enjoy the ultimate late-summer celebration of disco, soul and dance music as we bring you Soul II Soul, The Brand New Heavies, The Beatles Dub Club and Norman Jay MBE!
You can expect legendary sounds, feel-good energy and dancefloor classics from some of the most influential names in British and international music all staged within the unique setting of Somerset’s most iconic venue.
Groove pioneers Soul II Soul emerged from the London warehouse scene in the late 1980s and became pioneers for British R&B. Their smooth fusion of R&B, soul and dance transformed the sound of a generation, defined and era and saw them win two Grammy awards.
Formed in London in the mid-1980s, The Brand New Heavies achieved international recognition with their blend of funk, soul and jazz which produced a string of hit singles including Dream On Dreamer, Midnight at the Oasis and You Are the Universe. They helped bring acid jazz into the mainstream during the 1990s by selling millions of records worldwide and touring all over the globe.
The Beatles Dub Club is a unique DJ project created by Chris Arnold. A world-renowned festival act, it reimagines The Beatles’ classic discography through a vibrant blend of reggae, dub, ska, funk, and drum & bass, featuring rare covers, remixes, and mashups. Enjoy this magical mystery tour of John, Paul, George and Ringo like you’ve never heard them before!
Kicking things off on the night will be trailblazing DJ Norman Jay MBE, whose genre-defining sets have shaped British club culture for decades. Instrumental in shaping the UK’s underground and mainstream music scenes for over four decades, Norman Jay MBE is widely considered to be one of the most significant figures in British dance and club culture.

Day Three – As You Like It
Experience the magic of Shakespeare under the open sky and on the field of play as acclaimed outdoor theatre company “Illyria” brings As You Like It to the Cooper Associates County Ground on Sunday September 13th.
Set against the unique backdrop of Somerset’s most iconic venue, this lively and entertaining production promises an unforgettable afternoon of laughter, romance, mistaken identities and adventure.
One of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies, As You Like It follows the spirited Rosalind as she escapes to the Forest of Arden. Love blossoms, disguises abound and life’s complications are delightfully untangled as playful flirting becomes more pain than pleasure as Love itself is pushed to the limit of its endurance!
Illyria have built a national reputation for creating accessible, energetic and visually stunning outdoor performances, making Shakespeare enjoyable for audiences of all ages – whether you’re a lifelong theatre lover or discovering the Bard for the first time.
The performance, which is suitable for all ages, begins at 3.30pm, with gates opening from 2.30pm, giving visitors plenty of time to arrive, relax and soak up the atmosphere before the show starts.
Tickets are priced at £25 for adults and £15 for under-16s, with excellent value family tickets available for just £60 (2 adults and 2 children).
