Somerset v Lancashire: Classic Cricket for Everyone to Enjoy
Following on from the announcements of our Beer & Cider fixture, our Family Fun Day fixture and our Somerset Introducing fixture, we are pleased to be able to announce that our fourth and final Metro Bank One Day Cup group stage matchday will see Somerset take on Lancashire in a classic cricket encounter.
What could be better than limited overs cricket during the summer holidays in Somerset?
This match on Tuesday August 11th is about cricket at the height of summer in Taunton!
Somerset and Lancashire is a List A rivalry that dates back to 1966 when the two teams first met in a limited overs match.
Since that date, some of the greatest players to grace the game have taken part in the fixture.
The likes of Ian Botham, Viv Richards, Joel Garner, Marcus Trescothick, Justin Langer and Andrew Caddick have faced greats like Clive Lloyd, Wasim Akram, Michael Atherton, Jimmy Anderson and Andrew Flintoff over the years and this summer we will see what the Class of 2026 have to offer.
Somerset will be looking for revenge after the two sides met at Taunton in the Metro Bank One Day Cup last summer. The side from Old Trafford came out on top by just two wickets in a tightly fought clash despite half centuries from Lewis Goldsworthy, Archie Vaughan and Fin Hill.

This year’s event will take place at our big Metro Bank One Day Cup derby against local rivals Gloucestershire on Friday July 24th.
A wide variety of tailored food options will also be available to purchase on the day.

Family Day
Somerset County Cricket Club are pleased to be able to announce the date of our annual Family Day fixture.
This year’s event will take place at our Metro Bank One Day Cup clash with Warwickshire on Sunday July 26th.

Somerset Introducing
The Somerset Introducing Music Festival will return this summer.
Building on the success of last year’s event, this year’s Somerset Introducing will take place at our Metro Bank One Day Cup clash against Surrey on August 7th.
This year’s headliners will be Supersonic Queen; the UK’s most dynamic Queen tribute.
The festival line up will also feature some outstanding local music acts who will be performing throughout the day, so make sure that you don’t miss out on this brilliant celebration of both live elite sport and live music!
