Somerset named as finalists for Business of Cricket Awards

Somerset County Cricket Club and Somerset Cricket Foundation have been named as finalists in a number of categories at the annual Business of Cricket Awards.

The Business of Cricket Awards recognise and reward First Class Counties and MCC personnel who work tirelessly to show influence, insight, and innovation, taking the experience of cricket for its fans beyond expected standards.

This year’s awards ceremony will be held at Lord’s on November 13th.

Somerset CCC have been named as finalists in the following categories:

2025 Best Development or New Facility (over £500K)

This award will be given to the venue that can demonstrate the largest impact from a project over £500k.

Somerset’s entry is based on the latest renovations at the Cooper Associates County Ground which centred on the redevelopment of the Andrew Caddick Pavilion and Ondaatje Pavilion to enable the seamless integration of Somerset Women, plus the construction of the player’s staircase to the outfield.

2025 Sponsorship of the Year

This award celebrates an effective sponsorship that delivered impactful and tangible results. Judges will be looking for examples of effective sponsorships that have driven key performance metrics of the brand partner across their business and driven measurable commercial results.

This was a joint application between Somerset CCC and Vertu.

2025 Raising The Game EDI Initiative Award

This award is looking for the best examples of initiatives that are ‘Raising the Game’ – by breaking new ground in EDI and helping to make cricket more welcoming and inclusive of underrepresented communities.

This entry focuses on the Club’s seamless integration of the first ever professional Somerset women’s team.

We are also delighted to be able to reveal that Somerset Cricket Foundation are a finalist in the following category:

2025 Unifying the Game – Recreational & Community Initiative of the Year

This award celebrates professional cricket’s connection with its recreational game counterparts and the local community that the game seeks to serve and inspire.

SCF have been shortlisted for the Sporting Memories and Walkers & Talkers initiatives

Both programmes were designed to address the challenges of isolation within communities, particularly among older adults, people living alone, and those with limited access to social or physical activity opportunities.
