Somerset named as finalists for Business of Cricket Awards

Somerset County Cricket Club have been named as a finalist in two categories at the annual Business of Cricket Awards.

The presentation event will take place on November 14th at Edgbaston.

The awards recognise and reward First Class Counties and MCC personnel who work tirelessly to show influence, insight, and innovation, taking the experience of cricket for its fans beyond expected standards.

They celebrate:

  • delivery of high-quality services and commitment to excellence
  • measurable improvement in the fan experience to create a welcoming venue for all
  • outstanding/effective leadership and personal contribution
  • the introduction of forward-thinking ideas

Somerset have been named as finalists in the following categories:

This award is looking for the best examples of initiatives that are ‘Raising the Game’ by breaking new ground in EDI and helping to
make cricket more welcoming and inclusive of underrepresented communities.

This is a joint submission from Somerset CCC and the Somerset Cricket Foundation.

Somerset CCC and Somerset Cricket Foundation introduced our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy with the ambition to jointly transform practice and culture, deliver services which are fair and accessible, and ensure all our environments are inclusive and welcoming to everybody who wishes to participate in cricket, in whatever way they choose.

This award celebrates venues who have engaged with new and diverse audiences in their community and encouraged them to engage with their venue, championing new projects to meet their needs and breaking down barriers that have stopped them visiting previously.
