Somerset CCC announce Marie Curie Day
Sunday April 5th will see Somerset County Cricket Club hosting Marie Curie Day at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
The day will see representatives from Marie Curie having a presence at the ground on the third day of the Rothesay County Championship match against Nottinghamshire raising vital awareness of their work and services.
Marie Curie is the UK’s leading ‘end of life charity’. They care for people with any illness they are likely to die from including Alzheimer’s (and other forms of dementia), heart, liver, kidney and lung disease, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s, and advanced cancer.
The charity also provides support for family members and friends of those affected by these illnesses. Marie Curie is the largest charity funder of palliative and end of life care research in the UK, and campaigns to ensure everyone has a good end of life experience. Whatever the illness, they’re with you to the end.
Marie Curie Regional Partnerships Lead, Clare Mills said: “We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with Somerset County Cricket Club for the first ever Marie Curie Day in April.
“By donating on the day, people can help Marie Curie continue providing care and support to people living with terminal illness, and to those close to them, when it matters most. We’re grateful to Somerset County Cricket Club and to everyone who chooses to donate on the day.”
Somerset County Cricket Club’s Head of Marketing & Digital, Ben Warren said: “We are pleased to be giving Marie Curie a platform to help them raise both awareness and much-needed funds. As an organisation, Marie Curie plays a hugely important role within the community, and it is a pleasure to be working with them and hosting our first ever Marie Curie Day in April.”
If you’re living with a terminal illness or have been affected by dying, death and bereavement, Marie Curie can help.
