
Second XI T20: Warwickshire v Somerset
Warwickshire beat Somerset by 89 runs in the Central Group of the Second XI T20 competition at Edgbaston Community Sports Ground today.
Somerset won the toss and elected to bowl.
The Warwickshire opening pair of Robert Yates and Vansh Jani shared a stand of 117 before the latter was stumped by Dylan Rawal off the bowling of Josh Thomas for 34 in the 11th over.
Yates and Dan Mousley then added 26 for the second wicket, Mousley only contributing three before he was caught behind off Thomas. Yates eventually fell for 101 from just 54 balls s Thomas claimed his third victim.
Hamza Shaikh fell lbw to JT Langridge at 198 for four but Kai Smith helped himself to 42 from just 21 balls as the home side finished on 218 for four from their 20 overs.
Somerset had slipped to 39 for two by the end of the powerplay and although there were late fireworks from Migael Pretorius (33 from 14) only one other batter reached 20 as the visitors were dismissed for 129 in the 17th over.
