Second XI T20: Somerset v Warwickshire
Somerset fell to a 22-run defeat against Warwickshire in the Central Group of the Second XI T20 competition at Taunton Vale Sports Club today.
Somerset won the toss and elected to field.
Kai Smith was caught behind off the first delivery of the match, bowled by JT Langridge, but Zen Malik made 73 from 40 balls as the visitors recovered from 19 for two to post a total of 182 for seven. Langridge was the pick of the bowlers claiming three for 22.
In reply, Somerset slipped to 15 for four but an 80-run partnership between Ben Church and Oscar Coleman got the hosts back on track.
Coleman scored 82 from just 44 deliveries, but he fell at 156 for seven in the 18th over and the hosts finished on 160 for eight.
Somerset have named the following squad for the match: Archie Vaughan, Josh Thomas, Thomas Rew, Theo Lamey, Kian Roberts, Ben Church, Oscar Coleman, Zach Vukusic, Migael Pretorius, James Theedom and JT Langridge.
Entry to Taunton Vale is free but there is a charge for parking.
