Second XI T20: Somerset v Glamorgan

Somerset lost to Glamorgan by three wickets in a Second XI T20 match at Taunton Vale Sports Club today.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bowl.

Despite losing George Thomas early on, Lewis Goldsworthy and Sean Dickson ensured that Somerset had reached 31 for one after the powerplay. Goldsworthy departed for 19 at 41 for two but Dickson and George Bartlett accelerated the run rate and shared a third wicket stand of 100 from just 49 balls.

Bartlett was eventually dismissed for 48 from just 28 balls whilst Dickson went on to make 67 from 50 as the hosts posted a total of 169 for eight.

The visitors lost early wickets and by the end of the powerplay were 48 for three.

However, Morgan Bevans (42) and Alex Horton (54 from 36) got Glamorgan back in the game, and nine runs were required from the final over.

Andrew Salter and Andy Gorvin duly obliged and saw their side home with two balls to spare thanks to a six from Salter off the fourth ball of the over.
