Second XI T20: Defeat at Taunton Vale
Somerset fell to a 34-run defeat against Glamorgan in the Second XI T20 competition at Taunton Vale Sports Club today.
The home side won the toss and elected to field, and it looked like the correct decision when JT Langridge accounted for Eddie Byrom in the opening over.
However, Jacob Blades (52 from 28 balls) and Harry Wallace shared a second wicket stand of 111.
Wallace went on to make an unbeaten 99 from 59 deliveries and Callum Nicholls smashed 38 off 14 balls as the visitors finished on 225 for three.
Opening the innings, Archie Vaughan (46 from just 17 balls) got Somerset off to a strong start.
There was also late impetus from Ben Church (37 from 25, but the hosts were restricted to 191 for five from their allotted overs.
Somerset have named the following squad: Archie Vaughan, Theo Lamey, Josh Thomas, Kian Roberts, Bertie Michael, Ben Church, Oscar Coleman, Migael Pretorius, Zach Vukusic, James Theedom and JT Langridge.
Entry to Taunton Vale Sports Club is free of charge but there is a charge for parking at the venue.
