Second XI Friendly: Somerset v University of Exeter

Somerset Second XI took on the University of Exeter in a T20 friendly at Taunton Vale Sports Club today.
Somerset eased to victory by 97 runs.
Somerset won the toss and elected to bat.
Openers Tom Banton and George Thomas shared an opening stand of 97 before Thomas was dismissed for 33. Banton eventually fell for an impressive 68 from just 39 balls at 108 for two. George bartlett (29 from 19) and Lewis Goldsworthy (26 from 20) helped to ensure that the hosts posted a total of 182 for eight from their 20 overs. Dominic Morgan was the pick of the visitors attack, claiming four for 21.
Ned Leonard decimated the students top order, claiming all the wickets as the visitors slipped to 34 for four. Josh Thomas (two for 11) and Shoaib Bashir (three for nine) also enjoyed themsleves as the University of Exeter were all out for 85 from 17.1 overs. Leonard was the pick of the home attack with four for 18.
