Second XI Championship: Worcestershire v Somerset – Day Four
Day Four

Somerset take on Worcestershire in the Second XI Championship at Bromsgrove School this week.
Essex resumed on 37 for one in their first innings.
Rehaan Edavalath and Ethan Brookes progressed the hosts to 91 before a terrible mix up saw Brookes run out for 38.
Edavalath reached his 50 from 114 balls as Worcestershire posted 133 for two by the time the lunch interval arrived.
No further play was possible after the break and play was eventually called off just before 2pm.
Day Three
Somerset won the toss and elected to bat but lost Fin Hill to the final ball of the opening over.
Archie Vaughan and Lewis Goldsworthy then added 51 for the second wicket until the former was trapped lbw for 25 by Sam Keeling-Wright.
Goldsworthy and Thomas Rew then shared a stand of 55 before Goldsworthy was bowled by Yadvinder Singh for 35 at 111 for three.
By lunch, Rew and George Thomas had advanced the score to 121.
After the interval, Rew reached his 50 from 98 balls but fell nine runs later.
George Thomas made 36 whilst his brother Josh added a brisk 47, but Somerset were dismissed on the stroke of tea for 246.
By the close of play, the hosts had reached 37 for one in reply. Ed Pollock was the batter fall, caught by Josh Thomas off the bowling of Sonny Baker for four.
Day Two
Unfortunately no play was possible on the second day.
Day One
Play was due to get underway at 11am but rain meant that no play was possible on day one.
