SCCC AND VERTU MOTORS BLAST INTO 2024 TOGETHER

Somerset County Cricket Club and Vertu Motors will continue to work together throughout 2024 as their fledgling partnership moves into a second season.

Vertu Motors – a retail brand of Vertu Motors group – joined forces with Somerset ahead of the 2023 season as the company expanded its presence in the South West region, following the acquisition of 28 dealerships from Helston Garages Group, a number of which were rebranded under the Vertu Motors name.

The partnership saw Vertu branding appear on the sleeve of both Somerset’s County Championship and Metro Bank One Day Cup shirts, whilst the brand would also go on to become the front of shirt sponsor of Somerset Women’s County Cricket Club.

Vertu Motors also took up a role as Vitality Blast Live Stream Partner, and it was in the shorter form of the game where Somerset enjoyed the greatest success on the field – securing an impressive victory in the Vitality Blast.

With Matt Henry and Ben Green topping the charts for most wickets taken, Somerset battled through to Finals Day, where impressive victories against Surrey in the semi-final and then Essex in the final saw the Club secure its second victory in the competition.

Somerset Women’s team also took T20 honours, winning Group 8 after beating Wales in the final after chasing down a winning target of 118 with eight overs to spare.

With the partnership now moving into a second year, Vertu Motors will continue to work with Somerset County Cricket Club to not only support the team on the field, but also support a range of different initiatives in local communities.

Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu Motors, said: “Our partnership with Somerset County Cricket Club last year really helped to establish the Vertu Motors brand in the South West, and gave an introduction to the various communities where we now have a presence after our expansion in the area.

“After a hugely successful year, with richly deserved victories in the two T20 competitions, we are proud to be continuing our relationship with Somerset into 2024 and look forward to working with the Club during the year ahead.”

Caroline Herbert, Somerset County Cricket Club Commercial Director, added: “We are absolutely delighted to extend our multi-faceted partnership with Vertu Motors for another two years. As businesses, we are closely aligned, putting our people and the local community at the centre of what we do.

“Vertu Motors’ regional strength in the South West mirrors our own fanbase equally, and we believe in offering excellent customer service built on the shared values of integrity and trust. As one of the largest automotive retailers in the UK, we can expect lots of fun and activity over the next 24 months.

“It is great to see this successful partnership continue and for Vertu Motors to firmly embed themselves into the Somerset family and fanbase.”
