Runs galore for Pathway batters
A number of Somerset Pathway players have had a productive time with the bat over the last few days.
Topping the bill was 16-year-old Theo Lamey who scored a century in each innings for Somerset in the ECB Under 18 Boys County Championship against Warwickshire at Edgbaston Foundation Ground- a feat that earned him a call up to the First XI for their Metro Bank One Day Cup game against Kent
After being asked to bat, Somerset were all out for 358 in 72.4 overs. Theo hit 108 off 111 balls with 13 fours and four sixes whilst Oscar Coleman made 106 from 132 deliveries as the pair added 123 for the fourth wicket. Warwickshire replied with 357 for three from 78 overs, Mo Kaleem taking two for 49.
In their second innings, Somerset made 398 for eight declared thanks to a second wicket stand of 186 between Lamey, who retired not out on 107 from 115 balls, and Bertie Michael.
Michael then added 80 for the third wicket with Coleman (53), before he was out for 105 from 153 deliveries.
In their second innings the hosts reached 224 for four with Thomas Watson taking two for 28.
Somerset Girls travelled to Ivybridge to play two Vitality Blast matches against Devon in the ECB Under 18 County Cup.
In the first match, Somerset posted 181 for three thanks to 112 from Katie Rowe off just 56 balls. Leila Moledina made an unbeaten 40 as the pair added 157 for the third wicket.
Devon replied with 185 for seven, Matilda Parfitt taking two for 19.
In the second game, the hosts were put in and scored 159 for four. Ella Gill, who is on the Somerset Academy, contributed 77 off 49 whilst Parfitt claimed another two wickets.
In reply, Somerset were limited to 138 for seven. Emily Dummett top scored with 52.
In the ECB Girls Under 16 Vitality T20 County Cup, Somerset hosted their Dorset counterparts at Taunton Vale Sports Club.
In the first game, after being asked to bat first, Dorset were bowled out for 47 in 11.2 overs. Amy Court ended with impressive figures of four for one.
Somerset reached 48 for two in 5.5 overs, Isobel Glyn- Jones making an unbeaten 28.
In the second game, the hosts were put in and posted 213 for two. Emma Mason made 126 from 68 balls and Emily Dummett hit 53 off 40 deliveries as the pair added 159 together for the second wicket.
When the visitors replied they reached 194 for 6, Rose Grant Peterkin taking two for 31.
