National Championship for Somerset Disabled CC D40 team
Somerset Disabled CC D40 team became National Pursuit Champions this weekend after a three-wicket victory over Middlesex.
Middlesex won the toss and elected to bat first.
Aryan Janjale (18) and Neil Magdani (9) shared an opening stand of 26 before James Redwood (two for 20) dismissed both batters.
Moazzam Rashid and Connor Flaunty (21) took the score to 61 before the latter was run out by Cameron Smith.
Jack Smith and Luke Tucker then accounted for Fraser Church (1) and Rashid (15) respectively as Yorkshire slipped to 71 for five in the 16th over.
More good bowling from Smith (two for 24) and Tucker (three for 14) backed up by some excellent fielding saw Somerset dismiss their opponents for 108 from 22.3 overs.
Somerset fell to 27 for two in the 11th over but Oli Dobrijevic (27) and Zach Webber (26) got the innings back on track.
There were also important contributions from James Mayled (14) and Joe Hooper (16 not out from seven balls) as Somerset reached their target for the loss of seven wickets in the 25th over.
