
More 150th birthday celebration details revealed
We are pleased to be able to reveal more details of our 150th birthday celebrations.
On Sunday August 17th we take on Warwickshire in the Metro Bank One Day Cup and there will be all manner of special events taking place throughout the day to mark our 150th anniversary.
There will be live music, entertainment and everything else that you need to help make the party go with a swing, so make sure you don’t miss out on being a part of this historic match.
Here is a taster of some of the things that you can enjoy on the day:
Special Limited Edition Scorecards
To mark the occasion, we will be producing a special limited edition scorecard for this Metro Bank One Day Cup match against Warwickshire.
150 Free Drinks from Thatchers (18+)
We have teamed up with Thatchers Cider who will donate a free drink for the first 150 Members or spectators through the gate on the day.
150 Free Drinks from St Austell Brewery (18+)
We have also teamed up with St Austell who will donate a free drink for the first 150 Members or spectators through the gate on the day. This means the first 300 on the day can request either a Thatchers or St Austell Brewery special drink!
A real birthday theme
Get in the birthday mood with balloons and bunting around the ground. There will even be birthday bell ringing performed by Somerset Members from St James Street Church from 1pm to 1:45pm.
Free raffle
During the match we will be holding a special free draw for 150 exclusive prizes. Every supporter who enters the ground will be given a free raffle ticket
150th cake cutting
To mark the occasion of our 150th birthday there will be a special celebratory cake cutting.
Somerset Legends
For the duration of the game, former players will be in attendance.
Rock ChoirÂ
The South West Rock Choir will be performing at the Cooper Associates County Ground on the day, with a wide array of musical songs including a special Happy Birthday feature!
Wear your Somerset retro shirt campaign
We are encouraging Members and supporters to wear their Somerset replica shirts from years gone by on the day, so dig out your retro kit and show your colours!
Annual Church Service
Gates will open at 9:20am for those wishing to attend the service, which will begin at 9:30am.
Those attending the service are asked to enter via the Brian Rose Gates.
The speaker this year is Rev. Jonathan Philpott who is Mission Development Advisor for the Diocese of Bath and Wells and who also plays club cricket in Somerset (alongside his son).
