THE MATCH
Somerset welcome Surrey to the Cooper Associates County Ground in the Metro Bank One Day Cup tomorrow (Friday August 7th).
Play will get underway at 2pm with gates opening at 1pm.
Tickets for this match, which also includes our annual Somerset Introducing Music Festival, are still available.
Somerset are currently sixth in Group A with eight points from five matches whilst Surrey are second in the table with 16 points from six matches.

Half Innings Tickets will go on sale following the match interval for £15 from the Jack White Gates only (St James Street).

SOMERSET LEISURE FAN VILLAGE
The Somerset Leisure Fan Village is situated in the St James Street side of the Cooper Associates County Ground.
This will feature a wide range of food and drink plus live music as part of the Somerset Introducing Music Festival!
Matchday food and drink will also be available from the SCCC concessions and bars around the ground.
Joel’s, which is located behind Block Five of the Somerset Stand, near the Joel Garner Gates will also be open.

Player to watch: Adam Thomas has already made a hundred on his Rothesay County Championship debut this summer, a brilliant and mature innings against Sussex at the Kia Oval, and the 20-year-old will be a key man in the bid to post big totals.
Young gun: Ralphie Albert, a genuine all-rounder who bats in the middle order and bowls left-arm spin, is highly rated beyond Surrey and was chosen by England Young Lions coach Mike Yardy to captain England U19s against South Africa U19s in the past month.

Ahead of the match, Somerset Head Coach, Jason Kerr said: “The reality is that we find ourselves in a similar position to the Blast where we’re going to have to win three games to give ourselves a chance of progressing. I think we’ve played some really good cricket in the comp so far but the last game at Leicestershire was disappointing, particularly the second half. So, first and foremost we need to put in a significantly better performance and replicate the cricket that we’ve played at home so far in this competition.
“Surrey have lost players to The Hundred but they’ve still got several internationals in their squad. They’re a strong side and we’re going to have to be at our best and make sure that we put in a performance to get the points.
“There’s a huge amount of talent in our squad too. Obviously, we’ve got some inexperienced players but there’s some vastly experienced players as well and it’s about bringing that together. From a bowling point of view, we’ve been very good so far and up until the last game we’d batted well too. We need to draw on that, keep the belief and put in a string of performances over the next few days.”
CLASSIC MATCH
We go back to 2017 for the classic List A match between the two sides at Taunton.
Somerset Captain, Jim Allenby won the toss and elected to field first.
Half centuries from Ben Foakes (92) and Mark Stoneman (56) helped the visitors post a total of 290 for eight from their 50 overs.
Craig Overton and Lewis Gregory both claimed three wickets for the hosts.
The Somerset chase got off to the worst possible start, with the home side slipping to 22 for five in the seventh over.
However, the Taunton faithful were treated to one of the finest List A innings in the history of English domestic cricket as Roelof van der Merwe scored 165 not out from just 122 balls to get Somerset back in the game.
He shared a 213-run partnership with Dean Elgar (68) for the sixth wicket and smashed 24 fours and a six in an innings which saw Somerset claim the unlikeliest of victories with 37 balls to spare.
