Membership 2026: A Message from Jamie Cox
To all Somerset Members and Supporters
It’s been an honour to be CEO of this wonderful Club during our 150th year, and whilst it’s been joyous to look back on our glorious history, we must always be looking to the future.
With this in mind, our 2026 Membership brochure was launched on Friday and Membership for next year is now available to purchase.
The support that we enjoy is incredible and it is our people who make this such a special Club. Our priority remains to deliver value for money and a high-quality service to our Members, whilst continuing to ensure that the Club remains financially sustainable. As part of this commitment, we need to ensure prices remain fair, competitive and reflective of both the playing programme and the costs of running the Club.
With these crucial criteria at the forefront of all our planning, we have taken the decision to freeze Membership prices for 2026, at the 2025 rate during our annual Early Bird period which runs until 31st January 2026. This approach ensures that loyal Members who commit early are rewarded with the best value available.
The men’s playing schedule for next season remains subject to change, and we already know that there is a reduction in the number of white ball fixtures. At the time of writing, the number of County Championship and Metro Bank One Day Cup matches to be played in 2026 is unknown and we will continue to push for status quo. By holding prices for the Early Bird period, we can provide reassurance and value for Members despite this uncertainty.
We also recognise that Platinum and White Ball Members are particularly impacted by the reduction in the Vitaliy Blast matches. To ensure these Memberships continue to represent excellent value, we are introducing enhanced benefits for the coming season.
These include:
- White Ball Members will receive two tickets for each day of the 2026 Festival of Red Ball Cricket County Championship match.
- Platinum Members will receive two extra County Championship guest passes
- Platinum and White Ball Members will receive an exclusive opportunity to buy a WIT20 ticket at the following prices £10 (Cat C), £15 (Cat B), £20 (Cat A)
- Access to enhanced Mates Rates in 2026 offering greater value and significant savings on additional tickets
- Enhanced reciprocal arrangements with other First-Class Counties
- New and improved Somerset Rewards which give our Members discounts and benefits with local businesses
Whilst we are offering this Early Bird freeze, it is important to acknowledge that costs across the cricketing landscape continuing to inflate.
We hope that you will appreciate and understand the critical role that your support plays in assisting us in securing the Club’s secure financial stability.
The cost of delivering cricket – grounds, facilities, staffing, compliance and infrastructure – does not fall proportionately with a reduced match calendar and we must continue to maintain year-round standards.
By freezing prices until January 31st, we are giving Members the opportunity to secure the best possible value in a season which still contains some uncertainty, while also recognising the need for modest increases after this date. We are committed to enhancing the Platinum and White Ball packages to ensure that, despite the reduction in white ball fixtures, Members receive increased benefits and value.
I hope that you will agree that this balanced and carefully considered approach reflects both our responsibility to Members and our duty to safeguard the financial health of the Club.
The 2026 season is sure to be another memorable year for Somerset County Cricket Club and for you as Members and supporters and we hope to secure your commitment early.
