Members’ Day 2025 a big success
Somerset supporters attended the Cooper Associates County Ground in their hundreds this week to attend the Club’s annual Members’ Day.
The annual free event gives Members the opportunity to see everything that Somerset County Cricket Club has to offer.
The event began in the County Room of the Colin Atkinson Pavilion where those in attendance were welcomed by Commercial Director, Caroline Herbert.
Vice Chair, Richard Brice then updated Members on plans for the Club’s 150th anniversary celebrations before Geoff Vian discussed the importance of the Club’s Member Directors.
Head Grounds Person, Nick Pepper brought people up to date with what has been happening on the outfield this winter and then Operations Director, Sarah Trunks talked about the ground development work that has been taking place.
Mark Smith, Head of Food Operations, outlined the catering provision that would be available in 2025 and then Jon Bendle, Managing Director of Somerset Cricket Foundation, discussed the vital role that the charity plays within the County.
Members then got the chance to see the Somerset men being put through their paces in the indoor centre of excellence where Steve Kirby and Alfie Ogborne gave people a behind the scenes look at a session in the nets.
Attendees were also given the opportunity to see the team bus and have a tour of the recently developed Andrew Caddick Pavilion.
It was then back to the County Room for an informative question and answer sessions with Andy Hurry (SCCC Director of Cricket), Somerset Women Head Coach Trevor Griffin plus Somerset Women players Chloe Skelton and Bex Odgers.
There were then guided tours of the Somerset Cricket Museum and the Marcus Trescothick Pavilion whilst Max Waller talked those present through a fielding session with Mollie Robbins, Jess Hazell and Erin Vukusic.
Members of staff were also on hand throughout the day to answer any questions that Members had about the Club.
