The Somerset Pathway age group teams have been in action over the last week, and during their matches there were some impressive individual and team performances.

Somerset Girls played their Cornwall counterparts in the Under 18 County One-Day Cup. Molly Thorburn (70) and Katie Rowe (39) led the way with an opening stand of 73. Thorburn then added 47 for the sixth wicket with Poppy Hawker (18). Somerset eventually posted a total of 202 all out from 34.1 overs.

When Cornwall replied they were bowled out for 50 in 15.3 overs. Five Somerset bowlers claimed two wickets each, with Lucy Ashman the pick taking two for three from four overs.

 

Somerset Boys Under 16s were involved with a high scoring tie when they played against Hampshire at Basingstoke,

After winning the toss and batting, Hampshire posted 334 for six from their 50 overs, Peter McGivern taking three for 42.

In reply, Somerset reached 334 all out in 49.1 overs. James Hibbert hit 51, Hanson Martin made 50 and Freddie Stappard scored 43.

The Boys Under 16s then hosted Berkshire in the ECB County Cup. The visitors chose to bat and scored 242 for nine in their 50 overs, Jack Blackwell taking three for 68.

In reply, Somerset reached 246 for six in 44.4 overs thanks to an unbeaten 121 from Hanson Martin which came from 156 deliveries and contained 15 fours. Sam Price made 44 as the pair shared an opening stand of 142.

 

Somerset Boys Under 18s hosted Devon in the ECB County Cup at Taunton Vale. Devon batted first and were all out for 205 in 49.4 overs, Harvey Richards taking three for 36 off 10 overs, while Oscar Coleman claimed three for 24.

Somerset replied with 211 for two in 31 overs with openers Seb Linnitt  and Ben Church (34) putting on  57 for the first wicket.

Linnitt then added 64 for the second wicket with Kian Roberts (28), before being joined by Bertie Michael. The two Somerset batters shared an unbroken partnership of 90 to see their side to victory with 19 overs to spare. Linnitt ended unbeaten on 102 which he scored off 97 balls with 14 fours and three sixes with Michael ending on 34 not out.
