Join Tom, Ben and Roelof in their support of charity walk

Somerset County Cricket Club have once again teamed up with St Margaret’s Hospice to help promote the second annual Big Somerset Cricket Bash!

The two organisations have created the event which is a charity walk that finishes at the Cooper Associates County Ground and includes entry to day one of our Vitality County Championship match against Warwickshire.

On Sunday June 30th, you can enjoy a great day out, make new memories and most importantly, help to make a massive difference to families in the local community. St Margaret’s supports around 5000 patients and their loved ones across Somerset each year, and they can’t do it without your help.

By attending this event, bringing your friends and family along and raising additional sponsorship, you can really make a difference to the patients who rely on their vital service at home, in their Sunflower Centres or at their specialist In-Patient Unit.

To help promote the event, Tom Abell, Ben Green and Roelof van der Merwe visited St Margaret’s Hospice this week where they had a tour of the centre and met with staff and patients.

The event on June 30th will begin at the Taunton hospice where you’ll be greeted with a bacon sandwich and change into your official event t-shirt. You’ll then take a scenic 5km stride to the Cooper Associates County Ground.

Walk in memory of loved ones, or just take the time to catch up with friends new and old.

To be a part of the Big Somerset Cricket Bash all you have to do is sign up and pay the entrance fee which covers:

  • Entry to the cricket match (11am start time)
  • Free Big Somerset Cricket Bash t-shirt
  • Bacon sandwich/vegetarian alternative
  • Pint of Cider/ Non-alcholic alternative

For Somerset CCC Members or ticket holders, there is also a Walk Only option.
