Jacob’s Story: Fighting Online Abuse with Somerset CCC and WPA
Somerset County Cricket Club in conjunction with Principal Partner, WPA Health Insurance are proud to be able to bring you episode two of Somerset Dreams – a project designed to offer support and encouragement to members of the Somerset Cricket Family.
In the second instalment of the series, we follow the story of Jacob Lunn.
As well as being a Somerset fan, Jacob represents the Club as a member of Somerset Disabled CC.
Jacob’s love of the game extends into his off-field passion, which is photography. When not playing, Jacob can often be found at the Cooper Associates County Ground taking photographs.
Unfortunately, Jacob became the victim of disgusting online abuse.
This is Jacob’s story:
Thanks to WPA, Jacob will now be taking a photography course and they have made a significant donation to Cybersmile, the international nonprofit organisation committed to tackling all forms of cyberbullying and digital abuse.
In addition to this, WPA used their in-ground advertising assets at a recent Somerset home match to promote Cybersmile to help raise awareness of the organisation.
Somerset CCC also employed Jacob to undertake his first professional matchday photography assignment.
If you have suffered online abuse, Cybersmile can offer help and support.
