Harry Burden Memorial Lunch

The Harry Burden Memorial Lunch will take place at the Cooper Associates County Ground on November 20th.

The Harry Burden Memorial Fund supports youth cricket in Somerset by awarding a bursary to a promising young player each year.

Established in 1996, the fund was set up in memory of Harry Burden, a young cricketer who tragically died of leukaemia shortly before his eighth birthday.

Harry’s Lunch includes an auction and raffle, and features the award of the Harry Burden Trophy to Somerset’s Young Cricketer of the year. Previous winners include Will Smeed, James Rew, JT Langridge, George Thomas and George Bartlett.

Last year the awards were presented by Tom Abell.

The bursary was awarded to 15 year old Pyrland School pupil, James Hibbert. The Player of the year was won by Thomas Rew.

This is the main fundraising event for the Tony Coles Charitable Trust which supports youth cricket by providing grants to clubs and schools in Somerset.

This year’s event will take place in the Colin Atkinson Pavilion (12.00 for 12.30).

Tickets are £35 per person (£350 for a table of ten) and includes a three-course lunch, followed by a Q&A session with Jack Leach.
