Family Day 2026: “Junior Takeover”
As part of our annual Family Fun Day, we once again gave our young Members and supporters the opportunity to take over the Cooper Associates County Ground during our Metro Bank One Day Cup match against Warwickshire.
Somerset CCC, in collaboration with Somerset Cricket Foundation, invited youngsters to take on a number of matchday roles, including:
- Pre-match Pitch Report
- Coin Toss
- Matchday Announcing
- Scoring
- Photography
- Commentary
- Live Stream Operating
- Live Blogging
- DJ
- Post-Match Interview
As well as being good fun, the day gave those involved a taste of what it’s like working in professional sport on a busy matchday.

Jenna Kirby, from Somerset CCC’s Commercial Department, who was involved in the organisation of the successful event said: “The Junior Takeover is one of the most important elements of our annual Family Fun Day and it was great to see our young Members and supporters getting the chance to experience what it’s like behind the scenes on a busy matchday.
